Caracool is a brand new concept and is currently being tested and evaluated so the questions below haven't yet been
frequently asked, buy we thought these might be the things you would want to know.

  1. Is the Caracool heat pump like the ones for houses? - No! Although Caracool is a heat pump, it is essentially an air conditioning system, primarily designed to provide much needed comfort cooling for the caravan during the increasing summer temperatures. All heat pumps are reverse-cycle air conditioning systems, and Caracool is the same. It will provide heating during the colder months and is much cheaper to run than LPG.
  2. When will the system be available to buy? - We are working towards a launch in 2024
  3. What will we see inside? - Very little. Small rectangular floor grilles are fitted into all rooms except the shower rooms and en-suites, where only small circular floor vents are fitted. A central grille at low level in the wall, usually in the corridor to the bedrooms, takes the air back to the system. Other than that, just a neat little wall controller is fitted (like a thermostat) but you can use an app on your smart phone to control the system.
  4. Does the system provide hot water? - No, but in our aim to further reduce the use of LPG we are looking at an option to install an electric water heater. This would be connected to our unique POWRGUARD controller, which would limit the power consumption of the electric water heater.
  5. Does the system need to be installed by qualified air conditioning engineers? No, all of the specialist work will be carried out in our factory. The heat pump section will leave the factory ready to run. The whole system can be installed by any competent person. Your site approved electrician will only need to install the external 16amp power supply. We even supply the switched isolator for the electrician.
  6. How much will the system cost? - This is currently being worked out as we are finding ways to keep the costs as low as possible.
